What's the meaning behind the name of your book blog?

It's relative and I think it can be interpreted in many ways, but for me, music is a very important part of my life - almost as much as reading and blogging, but not quite :P and I believe that some books have to the ability to make words sound like music, and most of the time they're my favorites, hence I chose the name Symphony of Words.

How long have you been blogging?

Oh, only about 3 months now. I started in March 2014.

Tell us a bit about your book blog. What makes it unique?

It mainly focuses on the YA genre and all other sub genres. I guess what makes it unique the most is the music theme I have going, since it's a passion of mine that just can't be sated. Also, I think my header is pretty unique. Because I made it myself. Um. Yeah. 

What genres do you write about most, and why?

Mostly YA, since, well, I'm fifteen. I guess I just love how much can happen in fiction in the lives of teens and young adults that isn't realistically possible in this world. But then there are the contemporaries, which make me realize how much of fiction is tied to reality, and the whole things just makes me giddy with happiness. 

What's your earliest memory of reading?

A book on animals of the planet :) it was gifted to me by my cousin on my eighth birthday.

What was the first book you read over and over, or the book you've reread the most?

City of Glass by Cassandra Clare. I can never get over that book. 

Writing in books: Yes or hell to the no?

Hell. To. The. No. :P 

What's your favorite place to read?

The settee of my room which overlooks the neighborhood. I love the drag air and reading combination. Makes me want to dance. 

Do you have any reading accessories you can't do without?

Definitely my bookmarks. I never know which page I'm on if I don't have a bookmark. Also, a reading light. I'm basically a night owl and if I find something really interesting to read, I need my reading light charged and ready to go ASAP. 

Finish the sentence: My bookshelves are...

Nonexistent. Which means I don't currently have any bookshelves. I've just shifted to India from KSA, so all TNT books are just piled up inside my cupboard, covered my desk, and stacks and stacks of them in drawers and tables. I need to get a bookshelf ASAP. 

My TBR pile is...

currently housing approximately 300 books that need my immediate attention. 

What's a book that's changed your life?

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry. 

One book you like that no one else seems to, or vice versa?

Everyone seems to love the Harry Potter books, but I take one look at the first page and can't bring myself to read them. Concerning HP, I broke the ultimate book blogger rule: I reasoned with myself by saying that I have seen and loved all the movies. What's the point of reading? I know, GASP. 

To DNF or not to DNF?

If I don't like a book and can't continue it, definitely DNF. I state the why's and how's of course, but I can never force myself to continue a book I don't enjoy. 

What's one book that intimidates you?

Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor. If you've read it, you'll know why. *shudder*

If you could go to any literary destination, where would you go?

Book Expo America, and live there forever. 

How about non-book related hobbies? What do you do when you don't feel like reading?

I watch movies, listen to music, scour YouTube for bloggers, try to learn French, and practice my coding skills (which are sadly at beginners stage as of today). I also love moving little things here and there and try to give my room a new look. 

What's your favorite book to movie adaptation?

Probably The Hunger Games, but after a few weeks, I'm betting my answer will change to Divergent, since I love both books, and THG movie was beyond my expectations.

What's the meaning behind the name of your book blog?

Honestly it doesn't mean anything. I just started the blog for fun and I was sure I was going to delete it after a couple of days. That was in 2007 and here I am. A few bloggers might know me from violetcrush.wordpress.com. I recently decided to self-host but I kept violetcrush since it was associated with me for a long time.

How long have you been blogging?

Since 2007. Initially I posted about anything and everything but eventually bookish things started to creep in as reading was and is a huge part of my life. Today, I still occasionally blog about my personal life but it's mostly about books.

Tell us a bit about your book blog. What makes it unique?

hmmm...I don't know. I guess people who read my blog would be able to answer that better. But I do read a lot of different genre's from memoirs to Young Adult. 

What genres do you write about most, and why?

I read a lot of different genres but if I have to narrow it down I would say romance, YA and memoirs. The previous two I read whenever I need a quick or a light read. The later I read because I love to experience what kind of lives other people lead, even if it's through pages.

What's your earliest memory of reading?

Interestingly I never read when I was a child. My first book was a 10 page children's story which my father bought for us. That was the first and last book my parents ever bought. But somehow I turned into a bookworm. 

What was the first book you read over and over, or the book you've reread the most?

I would say My Girl by Patricia Hermes which also has a movie made on it which I haven't seen till date. I borrowed this book from my friend and I read it at least 5 times before returning it to him. I remember I cried a lot too...every single time.

Writing in books: Yes or hell to the no?

Definitely yes. I feel books are meant to be read, bookmarked, written on and dog-eared. I call it getting every ounce of knowledge, pleasure, information or whatever else you want from it.

What's your favorite place to read?

I would say in the bus while commuting to work. Since I work full time I don't get a lot of time to read, so that 45 min in the bus is my reading time.

Do you have any reading accessories you can't do without?

None. A bookmark maybe but then I just dog-ear it if I can't find one.

Finish the sentence: My bookshelves are...

the best decor in my house. Since we rent our house, I can't have too many bookshelves. I make do with whatever I have but even a small bookshelf overflowing with books looks beautiful.

My TBR pile is...

something I don't want to think about. Let's do it 'one book at a time.'

What's a book that's changed your life?

hmmm...I always have no answer to this question. I guess all the books I've read over the course of time have changed me in some way or the other. Although I can't really give you one name.

One book you like that no one else seems to, or vice versa?

The Blue Notebook. I hated that book, I gave it one star. Everyone seems to have loved it.

To DNF or not to DNF?

Sometimes you don't really have a choice. If I feel guilty I just have to look at my TBR pile once. There are too many good books out there to waste time on one that isn't for you.

What's one book that intimidates you?

All classics I guess. 

If you could go to any literary destination, where would you go?

I would go to Green Gables.

How about non-book related hobbies? What do you do when you don't feel like reading?

I love dancing. I do kathak which is a classical Indian dance. I love watching movies, documentaries. I love listening to music. I love cycling, going on a trek. And traveling. 

What's your favorite book to movie adaptation?

Twilight? I think.

What's the meaning behind the name of your book blog?

Seriously, i am not sure how to answer this question.The name of my blog came into my mind randomly.As my blog is a journal of book reviews that I post at a certain interval. I kept it's name as Periodical Gazette.

How long have you been blogging?

I have been blogging since March 2013.

Tell us a bit about your book blog. What makes it unique?

I blog about both fiction and non-fiction books.I guess this makes my blog unique.

What genres do you write about most, and why?

Mostly I review general fiction, horror novels, contemporary romance , YA and plan to review much more in the future. In terms of non-fiction, I review motivational and inspirational books only as for now.

What's your earliest memory of reading?

My earliest memory of reading is when I was my 7 years old though I don't remember much of it.

What was the first book you read over and over, or the book you've reread the most?

That would be A Place to Call Home by Deborah Smith which I brought from my college library last year and A Hole in the World by Sid Hite when I was 13 years old.

What's a book that's changed your life?

Actually there are four books, three novels which I couldn't get off my mind:  A Place to Call Home by Deborah Smith, The Promise by Nikita Singh, House of the Lost by Sarah Rayne.  In non-fiction, The Saint, the Surfer and the CEO by Robin Sharma.

How about non-book related hobbies? What do you do when you don't feel like reading?

When I'm not with books I usually hangout with my TV and listen to my favorite music over and over again.

What's your favorite book to movie adaptation?

Q&A by Vikas Swarup is my favorite novel that was made into a famous movie called Slumdog Millionaire by Danni Boyle.
